About

International recording artist, Tasha LaRae is blazing her trail around the world with soulful house & R&B vocals that will keep you dancing and feeling optimistic about life.

Although her roots are deep in the Midwest (she was born & raised in Omaha, Nebraska), relocating to Atlanta, Georgia has given Ms. LaRae the inspiration and opportunities needed to develop her unique sound and shape her artistry.

Tasha dove; head first, into the Atlanta music scene as a background vocalist, session singer, and songwriter for local artists in the early 2000s. Supporting artists like Avery Sunshine, Anthony David, & Tracy Hamlin, fueled Ms. LaRae’s fire to spread her music worldwide and in 2007, her soulful vocals caught the attention of Speech from 2X Grammy award winning group, Arrested Development. By the following year, Ms. LaRae began traveling with the iconic hip-hop trailblazers as their new lead female vocalist.

While touring with the band, Tasha continued to cultivate her songwriting skills by releasing several independent EPs (The Tasha LaRae EP, 2010, Light EP, 2018) and joining forces with her band mates to write and sing on several Arrested Development albums including Strong 2009, Standing At The Crossroads 2012, Changing The Narrative 2016, This Was Never Home 2016, and Craft & Optics 2018.

In 2016, Ms. LaRae released her first house music single, “Find My Way”, on Quantize Recordings and it opened the door for a flood of hit singles on Traxsource including, “Never Be Alone”, “Ready” and two classic remakes, “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” (originally by Angie Stone) & “I Need Your Lovin’” (originally by Teena Marie).

Recently, Arrested Development was awarded the 2019 Black Music Honors Hip Hop Icon Award for their contributions to music for the past 30 years, of which Ms. LaRae played a major role for the last decade and is a humble recipient of this award.

Her new album, ‘Tasha’ is set for release November 1, 2019 on Quantize Recordings and is her first full length LP. The album features 13 soulful house dance tracks with lyrics that reflect her views on love, loss of loved ones, manifesting dreams, and living our best life now.

“Life is a beautiful experience. It’s not always easy and things don’t always go our way but no matter what happens, we have to keep going. I make music for people in motion”. – Tasha LaRae
